A masterful display of traditional Iranian craftsmanship, the box features a highly detailed geometric border meticulously assembled from individual strips of dyed green, red, black and tan wood. The lid showcases a beautiful, hand-painted miniature scene depicting figures relaxing in a classic Persian garden setting under willow and cypress trees.
The interior reveals a traditional asymmetrical dual-compartment layout originally designed to hold standard vintage cigarettes on one side and matches or a lighter on the other. Both the lid and base feature matching penciled workshop assembly numbers ("7"), a charming testament to its individual handmade production process.
An elegant catchall for matches, jewelry, or small keepsakes, it styles beautifully on a curated bar cart, library desk, or living room coffee table. See less
