A striking vintage four-panel folding screen featuring wonderfully detailed hand-painted scenic imagery, including a dramatic peacock, chickens, flowering foliage, a tranquil lake and castle-like architecture, and a distinctive tree and bird scene.
The richly painted panels are framed with dark brown leather-like edging and rows of decorative antique-finish studs, giving the screen an unusually dramatic and collected appearance. At 73 inches tall, it makes an impressive decorative statement while remaining fully functional as a room divider.
A particularly distinctive piece for an eclectic, Chinoiserie-inspired, English Country, traditional, or maximalist interior.
Set includes four panels and hardware as pictured.

The painted surfaces have naturally aged with visible craquelure, scattered paint loss, and occasional surface scratches that add to the character of the piece. The decorative studded edging also shows some wear consistent with age. One connecting bracket is missing; the four panels remain functional and can be positioned independently. Overall, the screen presents beautifully with the wonderfully aged character expected of a vintage piece. less
