The surface is densely layered with knife marks, shallow cuts, softened edges, and tonal variation, giving the piece a character that could never be convincingly reproduced.

Its compact 14-inch scale makes it especially easy to style. Lean it against old ironstone on a kitchen counter, layer it among larger breadboards, place it on an open shelf with copper and pottery, or simply leave it flat on a farmhouse table where the beautifully worn surface can be appreciated as a small piece of culinary history.
