Elevate your exterior or entry space with this handsome pair of mid-century American colonial-style carriage house wall lanterns. Masterfully constructed from solid brass with a beautiful, authentic weathered patina, these stately rectangular sconces evoke timeless early American craftsmanship. Each lantern features classic grid-pane framing enclosing vintage textured seeded glass panels that beautifully diffuse light, anchored by an elegant decorative bottom finial and a traditional hanging ring top mount.
The interiors house a dual candelabra (E12) candle-cluster socket arrangement, perfect for warm, ambient illumination. Crucially, the reverse side retains its original, vintage Underwriters Laboratories (UL) yellow paper safety certification label ("Electric Fixture / Issue No. D-23,953 / Printed in U.S.A."), proudly confirming their authentic 1950s–1970s mid-century American heritage. This documented provenance ensures they are ready-made vintage classics rather than modern reproduction imports, allowing for straightforward installation onto standard modern electrical wall junction boxes. Left completely unpolished to preserve the highly sought-after natural oxidation and historic character preferred by interior designers.
Owner's Note: These lights were recently removed from a mid-century home in Indio, California.

They have their original wiring, the original patina has not been altered including a significant amount of rust on the top of one sconce in particular. (See photo for clarity.) The original floral connection that attached to the home is still inside the sconces along with hardware. I don't think anything is missing but the new owner will need to decide if they wish to sand, paint, or clean these or leave them in their original condition. Regardless, one should review the photos closely before purchasing. less
