Each panel on this antique pot is outlined in a dashed line of pale inlay, and inside each arch a leafy, flowering motif rises toward the shoulder. Above them, a band of tiny teardrops circles a flared collar and a thick, rounded rim. The wood has aged to a warm caramel brown, and the pale inlay stands out against it like fine stitching.

At 11 inches across and 15 inches tall, it has the scale to stand on the floor in a corner, an entry or beside a fireplace. Fill it with tall branches or dried stems as a statement vase, set a nursery pot inside as a planter, or place it on a wide console, where the inlay is closer to eye level. The warm brown works with white walls, linen and greenery, and the pale inlay catches the light from a window.
