Their varied floral compositions give the collection the inviting character of ceramics gathered and enjoyed over generations.

Central arrangements feature roses, tulips, and smaller blossoms in yellow, raspberry, pink, and violet, framed by foliage in shades of green and teal. Individual floral sprays embellish the borders, while the gently undulating rims lend each plate a refined silhouette.

For designers and collectors drawn to English country, traditional, and grandmillennial interiors, this set offers an appealing combination of botanical colour, decorative detail, and established ceramic heritage. Arrange the four as a decorative plate wall, display them in a Welsh dresser or glass-front cabinet, or layer them among other collected English ceramics.

Maker & Historical Background

Made in England by Wedgwood, with photographed undersides displaying printed “WEDGWOOD / ETRURIA ENGLAND” backstamps, impressed Wedgwood and “MADE IN ENGLAND” marks, and additional factory decoration and production codes.

Founded by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759, the firm became renowned for its refined cream-coloured earthenware. Queen Charlotte’s patronage helped establish the name Queen’s ware, beginning a tradition that remained central to Wedgwood’s production for generations. The Etruria marks connect these plates to that distinguished English ceramic heritage.

Catalogued as early twentieth century, circa 1920s–1930s, based on the photographed factory marks. The four plates feature differing central bouquets and decoration references, forming a coordinated collection rather than four identical plates. The exact named patterns and previous ownership history are undocumented.
