The solid cast brass door knocker with very fine detailing dates from the early 1900s and its massive size is quite impressive. This knocker represents the British Imperial Lion, symbol of the great British Empire and is similar in style to the infamous Lion's Head Door Knocker on the British Prime Minister residence at Number 10 Downing Street in London.

It is in very good antique condition with a mellow patina and normal wear from age and use. Functional and ready to display. Two black oxide bolts with washers will allow for mounting on doors measuring 1.75” thick. The striker is not included. If your door measures more than 1.75” thick, longer bolts are available upon request.

This beautiful decorative piece is indeed, very characteristic of English quality and craftsmanship prevalent in the early part of the 1900s.
