We assume the table top, over one and half inches thick, was once painted in solid green and through years in various locations fulfilling various needs has been worn through to its present attractive patina. The trestle ends are made from 2”x 6” boards, the legs set in an “X” shape and half-mortised together. Passages cut through these intersections receive the tapered slotted ends of the stretcher which is pulled tight against the legs with a wooden key tapped into the slot. Cleats attached to the underside of the table top hold it steady when in use. At a little over 32” the table is a little high for use with a standard chair. Can be reduced to the more usual 30-31” free of charge. See less
