This is an authentic late 19th-century Victorian flat-top travel trunk featuring richly embossed floral tin panels, dark iron strapping and corner hardware, exposed wood trim, original-style lock and latches, and side carrying handles.
The interior retains its removable divided wooden tray, an especially desirable feature that is often missing from surviving examples. The floral metalwork has a great aged gold-and-brown patina, while the wood interior shows the expected wear, staining, oxidation, and surface character from well over a century of use.
Excellent as decorative storage, a blanket chest, entryway piece, or antique coffee table.
