An exceptional and dramatic Hollywood Regency / Art Deco revival folding screen room divider, famously recognized as the style featured in the iconic film "Pretty Woman."
The front features four stepped, asymmetrical arched wooden panels heavily incised and carved with a bold graphic motif. The design depicts elegant wading herons (cranes) nestled within highly stylized, sweeping water waves and vertical marsh reeds. The deeply carved gilt/gold-leaf illustrations contrast beautifully against a glossy, rich black lacquered background, producing a striking luminous effect when caught by light. Ideal as a fully freestanding room divider or a wall-anchored architectural headboard.

Light checking, faint surface scuffs, and tiny cosmetic chips to the lacquer finish along the outer base edges and panel borders, which do not detract from the striking visual presence of the piece. Hinges are sturdy and fully functional. less
