A striking set of six Henredon neoclassical dining chairs featuring a dramatic interpretation of the ancient Greek Klismos form. Crafted in the United States and dating to 2007, the set includes two armchairs and four side chairs, creating a classic and highly desirable dining configuration.
The sculptural mahogany frames are finished in a deep, polished brown with an almost ebony appearance. Each chair is distinguished by an expansive curved tablet back, dramatically swept saber-style legs, and a broad central back splat that gives the design an architectural presence from every angle. The two armchairs are especially impressive, with beautifully shaped open arms that continue the fluid curvature of the frame.
The seats are upholstered in a warm golden-beige woven textile with a subtle geometric pattern, providing an elegant contrast against the dark wood finish. The restrained upholstery allows the exceptional silhouette of the chairs to remain the focal point.
Although inspired by classical Greek seating, the exaggerated proportions and glossy dark finish give the set a sophisticated Neoclassical, Regency and Hollywood Regency character that works equally well in a traditional dining room or a more contemporary interior.
Made by Henredon in Hickory, North Carolina, with the original manufacturer’s label present. The label identifies item 6014-28U and a delivery date of July 31, 2007.
