Striking vintage Rococo-style coffee table featuring a substantial shaped marble top with dramatic natural veining in shades of rose pink, blush, cream, gray and soft green.
The elaborate hand-carved wood base is finished in a warm antiqued cream/gilt tone and displays exceptional decorative detail. The pierced apron incorporates scrolling acanthus motifs, floral ornament, latticework and charming putti/cherub figures. Each cabriole-style leg is embellished with a dimensional carved figure and terminates in a scrolling foot.
The beautifully shaped marble top follows the serpentine contours of the base, creating a highly sculptural profile from every angle. The combination of colorful natural stone and ornate figural carving gives the table a distinctly European, Rococo Revival / Louis XV-inspired appearance.
An impressive statement table for a formal living room, Palm Beach interior, Hollywood Regency setting, or an eclectic room mixing antique and modern furnishings.
