Simple and sturdy folk chair dating from around 1900, with a solid wood frame and a traditionally woven rush seat, recently renewed. The two-bar backrest is supported by straight uprights extending to the floor, with visible joinery and wooden pegs.
The roughly shaped wood, with its irregular forms and hand-worked appearance, gives the chair a simple, almost naive character. The original wood retains a warm aged patina with marks and irregularities from use.
