Striking vintage black and gold candlestick featuring a bold hand-painted checkerboard pattern over a turned, classical silhouette. The alternating black and antiqued gold blocks create a graphic harlequin-like effect, accented by rounded gold-tone bands at the neck and base.
The tall, sculptural form has a bulbous central body, narrow neck, flared foot, and deep top socket designed to hold a taper candle. The finish has developed an aged, crackled appearance in areas, adding to its vintage character.
A fabulous statement piece for Hollywood Regency, Neoclassical, Chinoiserie-inspired, eclectic, or maximalist interiors. Equally fun styled alone or incorporated into a collected mantel or tabletop vignette.
