These precious pieces are 10 inches high and 9 inches in diameter. Their robust and elegant forms perfectly reproduce the classic, rugged, and stable style of Yuan to early Ming dynasty porcelain.
These vases perfectly utilize the most renowned high-temperature reduction firing technique in ceramic history: underglaze red. The rich and mottled copper-red glaze presents a deep oxblood red and crimson purple hue, accompanied by natural and ancient kiln-transformation layers. The decoration employs the highly difficult technique of "underglaze red with white relief" and appliqué relief: the swirling dragons and auspicious clouds are left unglazed after inscription, deliberately revealing the delicate "egg-white" porcelain body. The relief dragons slightly protrude from the surface, creating a strong three-dimensional contrast with the dark background, making the dragons appear spirited and lifelike.
As a pair of exquisite decorative items passed down through generations, they possess extremely high aesthetic and decorative value, whether used in high-end interior design projects, family mansion decorations, or as a thematic collection of Asian art.
