The substantial iron framework retains an attractive aged dark finish with traces of an earlier reddish painted surface showing through, giving the base considerable character and patina. Decorative turned brass collars and fittings punctuate the sweeping iron supports, while a broad brass-finished circular gallery surrounds the removable clear glass top.

The underside reveals a particularly interesting radial iron support structure, with multiple spokes extending from a central hub to the perimeter. The combination of dark iron, warm brass and glass creates the sophisticated mixed-metal appearance associated with French and Italian decorative furniture of the mid-20th century. See less
