Early 20th-century apothecary balance scale featuring an amber glass pedestal base supporting an ornamental metal balance beam with decorative wirework and a cast figural face at the central pivot. Two removable clear glass weighing pans are suspended from fine metal chains at either end of the beam. The elongated amber glass stem and broad circular foot give the functional scientific instrument an unusually decorative presentation, combining traditional pharmacy equipment with period ornamental detailing.
