The dimensional molded surface is beautifully articulated, with a nuanced palette of soft blush pink, creamy ivory, rich brown, and turquoise that gives the piece an especially decorative presence.

Designed originally for serving oysters, the plate is equally compelling as a decorative object. Its sculptural relief, unusual coloration, and architectural arrangement make it particularly well suited to a collected plate wall, displayed on a stand, or incorporated into a layered tabletop or cabinet collection. The combination of naturalistic shell forms and saturated color is characteristic of the wonderfully expressive oyster plates produced for the French table.

A singular antique piece with the character and variation expected of an object that has survived generations. See less
