sculptural pair of Danish Modern “Modus” lounge chairs attributed to Kristian Vedel for Søren Willadsen Møbelfabrik, Denmark, circa 1960s.
Each chair features a substantial hardwood frame, black leather sling-style back and arms, and a deep button-tufted leather seat cushion. The low profile, exposed joinery, and distinctive modular construction are characteristic of Vedel’s celebrated Modus series.
The original leather displays an attractive, age-earned patina, including creasing, surface wear, and color variation. One seat cushion shows more pronounced variation and wear. The wood frames retain a warm finish with minor wear consistent with age. Please review all photographs closely as part of the condition description.
These chairs come from a matching four-piece suite. The coordinating Modus ottoman and glass-top table are listed separately and may be available for purchase together.
