Features:
Bobbin-turned posts and front legs: The stacked ball turnings are the main feature of 17th-century Jacobean and Louis XIII furniture. You'll also see them called "spool-turned" or "Elizabethan turned."

Square end blocks with a carved panel: The blocks where the arms meet the posts and the back are typical of Louis XIII and Spanish Baroque chairs.

Tall, straight, fully upholstered back with open padded arms: This follows the Louis XIII "fauteuil" form.

Saber-curved back legs: These come from Regency style. Together with the plain square stretchers, they give the chairs their transitional, contemporary look.

Ebonized (black-stained) wood, antique brass nailheads and a diamond-pattern woven fabric: This is classic designer-showroom trim. You see it from high-end upholstery makers in the style of Ralph Lauren Home, Hickory Chair, Lillian August and Baker. That's only a comparison, not a maker identification.
