Broad square tops project beyond the compact bases, while open lower levels provide room for books, magazines, or objects on display. The imbuia ranges from deep brown to warm amber, with expressive grain and gentle signs of age that give each table its own character.
The pair is especially versatile: the tables can be arranged together or separately, and their open sides can face different directions to suit the room. The settings shown in the images illustrate how a change in orientation can bring the storage and display space into view or give the tables a quieter profile beside a sofa.
Casa Finland was a small woodworking workshop based in Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro, active during the 1960s and 1970s. Its carefully made furniture belongs to a rich period of Brazilian modernism, when native woods and skilled craftsmanship gave functional designs a distinct warmth. See less
