Just over a foot in height, this petite French wall mirror from the 1940s carries the language of classical decoration in a softened, restrained form.

Cast in plaster, the frame is shaped with scrolling curves and gentle relief, echoes of earlier Baroque and Rococo influences, translated through a mid-century lens.

The surface has aged into a soft patina, where warm tones settle into the recesses of the carving, giving depth to the ornament without overwhelming its scale. Light catches along the raised edges, while the mirror itself sits simply within, offering a subtle reflection rather than a commanding presence.

Its size invites thoughtful placement. It works as an accent within a larger composition, layered among artwork, paired in multiples, or positioned where a full mirror would feel excessive.

In a narrow wall, a powder room, or beside a doorway, it adds a note of detail that feels considered and complete.

A piece that doesn’t dominate, but refines, bringing a sense of history and texture to the spaces in between.

Sold and priced individually.
