Bring a splash of coastal mid-century glamour to your bar cart with this striking vintage Mexican articulated fish bottle opener. Masterfully handcrafted in Mexico, this functional piece of folk art features dozens of individually pinned, overlapping abalone shell scales that provide organic, fluid flexibility when handled.
The iridescent mother-of-pearl scales shimmer beautifully in the light, showcasing vibrant undertones of pinks, greens, purples, and blues. Designed in the iconic Taxco style popularized by design houses like Los Castillo, the fish features a detailed head and a sleek, multi-toned tail. The clever integrated bottle opener mechanism is hidden seamlessly within the mouth of the fish.
Whether utilized as an eclectic bar tool for entertaining or displayed purely as a sculptural conversation piece, this vintage gem is the perfect addition to any Hollywood Regency, Bohemian, or Mid-Century Modern collection.
