Their intertwined poses form a lively ascending composition, with expressive faces and outstretched hands bringing movement and personality to the group.

Fine detailing includes softly curled hair, individually modeled fingers and toes, textured feathers, and gently draped fabric across the rounded base. The porcelain’s creamy white, unglazed finish allows light and shadow to emphasize the modeling, lending the sculpture the appearance of miniature carved marble.

The playful putti subject evokes the French Rococo tradition and the sculptural spirit of Clodion, while its monochromatic biscuit finish recalls the classical porcelain groups of Sèvres. An elegant addition to French traditional, Louis XV, or Neoclassical interiors, it would also complement the collected European decorating associated with Charlotte Moss and Bunny Williams. These are stylistic references rather than attributions to the original model.

The underside bears Samson’s blue crossed leafy branches and S mark, together with impressed “Made in France” and “Genuine Bisquit” stamps. Additional incised marks and an inscription appear on the base.
