Made in either Italy or France, this magnificent piece recalls the distinctive style of the Christian Dior Home collection, designed around 1960. Although it bears no label confirming its attribution, the box displays the refined style and high-quality craftsmanship characteristic of pieces from this collection. The cane webbing traditionally associated with Thonet seating, is beautifully enclosed within a thick clear Lucite frame, creating a sophisticated contrast between the natural woven texture and the sleek, luminous quality of the Lucite. The hinged lid opens easily, making the box ideal for storing small personal items such as earrings and bracelets. It could also be used as an elegant cigarette box, displayed on a coffee table.
