Antique Edwardian Writing Desk / Stationery Cabinet – Inlaid Desk
A beautiful antique writing desk with a wonderfully decorative, traditional character. This charming piece features a lift-up hinged lid, which opens to reveal a fitted interior with multiple compartments, perfect for storing stationery, letters, documents and writing essentials.
The desk is crafted in a rich, warm-toned wood with beautiful natural grain and is decorated with delicate floral and foliate marquetry/inlay to the drawer front and upper section.
The piece stands on four beautifully turned, slender legs with intricate ring turning and is finished with decorative cross stretchers, giving it an elegant and distinctive silhouette.
It would make a lovely writing desk, bureau, hallway piece, bedroom dressing table or decorative storage cabinet.
This is a vintage desk and there are one sign of a previous life as pictured. The lock does not work.
