Beautiful French Jacquard tapestry by the Manufacture Jules Pansu, dating from the second half of the 20th century. The tapestry depicts a richly detailed woodland landscape, with majestic mature trees framing a panoramic countryside. The composition opens onto a distant rolling landscape, with abundant vegetation, foliage and small architectural or pastoral details visible in the background. The carefully graduated shades of olive green, moss green, ochre, brown, blue-grey and cream create a harmonious, atmospheric effect reminiscent of traditional European landscape tapestries.
