The tapestry presents a charming pastoral landscape scene, featuring elegantly dressed figures enjoying the countryside, surrounded by mature trees, a river or lake, distant hills and architectural details. The composition has a distinctly 18th-century-inspired pastoral character, with a soft and harmonious palette of blues, greens, ochres and warm reds. Woven using the Jacquard technique, the tapestry combines wool, cotton and acrylic fibres, creating a richly textured surface with fine pictorial detail. The piece has a decorative patterned border and is finished with a fabric backing. The reverse bears the original “Les Tapisseries d’Halluin – finition main – made in France” label, with the Jules Pansu emblem, confirming its French manufacture.
