The tapestry depicts a charming medieval courtly love scene, with elegantly dressed noblemen and ladies, a horseman on horseback, and figures surrounded by an exceptionally rich and detailed floral and foliage background. The deep navy-blue ground beautifully contrasts with the warm reds, golds, greens and ivory tones of the figures and vegetation. The piece is made using Jacquard weaving, combining wool, cotton and acrylic fibres, giving it both a substantial texture and excellent decorative presence. It is finished with a traditional Halluin-style woven tapestry technique.
