The curved upper rail and shaped vertical supports give the chair a distinctive handmade character while retaining the straightforward functionality associated with traditional rural furniture. The design belongs to the broader tradition of Czechoslovak folk and farmhouse furniture, rather than the later Mid-Century Modern design movement.
