The chairs feature beautifully curved bent beechwood frames with continuous flowing armrests and backrests, slender cylindrical legs and upholstered seats. The warm honey-brown finish emphasizes the natural grain and sculptural character of the bentwood construction. Antonín šuman was an important post-war czechoslovak furniture designer associated with ton. His work is particularly noted for developing the company's long-established bentwood tradition into lighter and more contemporary forms. Similar šuman armchairs produced by ton are documented from the late 1970s and 1980s. The organic curves and restrained construction make these chairs suitable for mid-century modern, czechoslovak modern, scandinavian-inspired and eclectic interiors. The set of two can be used around a dining table or individually as occasional or accent armchairs.

condition: good original vintage condition with age-related signs of use. The wooden frames show surface marks and imperfections consistent with age. There are visible superficial cracks on the armrests which do not affect the structural integrity of the chairs. The original upholstery also shows signs of age and use. official proof of authenticity,
