An antique British Victorian wooden tea caddy featuring a painted pastoral scene with figures and livestock, framed by delicate inlaid borders. The divided interior includes a removable wooden compartment and traces of metallic lining. A key is included.
A handwritten inscription inside the lid records that the scene was painted in 1883 by Waldo Victor Yeomans, aged 15, in Peterborough. This dates the painted decoration rather than necessarily the box itself.
Age-related wear includes surface marks, fine finish cracking, edge wear, and staining and discoloration inside the lid and compartments. Please review the detail photos. Approximate dimensions: 18.8 × 17.5 × 11.7 cm (7.40 × 6.89 × 4.61 inches).
International shipping is arranged on a DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) basis. The seller handles export and import customs clearance and covers associated clearance fees, import duties, and import taxes.
