It is constructed from tightly rolled cylinders of repurposed newsprint and printed paper layered horizontally to form a textured, ribbed exterior.

It features a barrel-vaulted, arched hinged lid reinforced with structural vertical bands and accented by an filigree scroll design across the front face. The exterior is coated in a rich, amber-toned protective lacquer or varnish that highlights the variegated warmth of the aged paper while giving it a durable, wood-like sheen. Inside, the chest is fully lined with a plush red velvet fabric.

Today, this unique item fits beautifully into several contemporary design aesthetics: Eclectic & Bohemian (Boho), Moody Maximalist or Rustic, Craftsman as a stand alone, or on a coffee table to hold electronic controls or cables. I hope you'll consider this one of a kind piece, a keeper in your home!
