This is a functioning wrought iron floor lamp from a summer "Up State" cottage. possible late Victorian to Art Deco.
The original base is black Wrought Iron but in recent years has been painted over in white. the photo of the upper arm shows the original black underneath.
The flat, slightly "spooned" feet of the tripod base indicate the possibility the lamp was hand forged. It weighs 10 pounds, is 64" high and 16" at the tripod base; the upper arm is approx. 18".
The lamp shade is sturdy; there are no rips or tears. However, there is residue in some areas from the backing of a self stick decorator fabric that had been applied; it can be removed.
