A dramatic and sculptural pair of 24-inch vintage Italian Baroque style figural candlesticks. Crafted in the classical Continental tradition, each candlestick features a winged putto (cherub) standing atop a celestial orb, resting upon a fluted acanthus-leaf base. Hand-finished in antiqued silver leafing with rich parcel-gilded gold drapery flowing around each figure. Each winged cherub gracefully balances two scalloped candle sockets, creating a symmetrical two-light display per holder (four candles total for the pair).
Made of some sort of composite material (likely resin). Ideal as dramatic accents for a mantelpiece, sideboard, or grand centerpiece. Unmarked but construction indicative of Continental Europe original (most probable Italy or France).
