The piece features a striking architectural construction with … Read more Unusual mid-century dressing table / vanity produced in Czechoslovakia in the 1960s. The piece features a striking architectural construction with tall continuous side panels, a large open central section and an integrated storage compartment at the top. The clean geometric composition and warm wood finish give it a distinctly modernist character.

The dressing surface is positioned only 53.5 cm from the floor, designed for use while seated on a low stool or pouf. The tabletop lifts to reveal a practical concealed storage compartment, ideal for cosmetics, accessories or other personal items.

The large open central section is an original element of the design and was not fitted with a mirror. Combined with the shallow profile, it gives the piece an exceptionally light and unusual appearance despite its impressive height.

Made in Czechoslovakia, circa 1960s by Jitona.
