A fine antique Japanese cloisonné lidded vessel dating from the late Meiji to Taisho period (circa 1900–1920).
Design & Motif: The lid features a finely worked polychrome vitreous enamel scene depicting traditional crowned cranes (symbolizing longevity and good fortune) set against a soft pale blue sky filled with stylized clouds and floral accents. The body is densely patterned with vibrant floral blossoms across a textured field, accented by traditional geometric borders.
Material & Craftsmanship: Expertly hand-crafted using thin copper wire partitions (cloisons) filled with rich-colored vitreous enamel. The interior and base are finished with a classic counter-enamelled turquoise blue glaze.
Condition: Excellent antique condition, displaying rich hand-crafted detail and traditional charm, making it a wonderful display piece for collectors of fine Asian art and metalwork.
