This is a 100% authentic, Victorian-era train carriage luggage rack from the New South Wales Government Railways (NSWR) in Australia. Measuring exactly 30 inches long, this complete assembly is a rare survivor from the golden age of rail travel and remains in remarkable, undamaged condition.
Unlike the flood of smooth-faced modern reproductions on the market, this piece showcases all the definitive hallmarks of genuine 19th-century craftsmanship:
• Authentic Sand-Cast Details: The iconic "NSWR" lettering features the distinct, deep dotted stippling pattern inside the recessed backgrounds. This high-contrast relief is a signature result of original sand-mold casting.
• Rich Historic Patina: The cast metal end brackets boast a gorgeous, uncleaned original patina with beautiful, deep copper and bronze tones warming through the high points from over a century of natural aging.
• Flawless Structural Condition: The full assembly is structurally sound with absolutely no breaks, cracks, welds, or dings. The support system and frame are perfectly intact and ready for immediate wall mounting.
Whether you are a dedicated railroadiana collector or a designer looking for a striking, industrial-luxury statement piece for a bathroom towel rack or entryway shelf, this pristine piece of Australian railway history is an absolute standout with cast high copper / bronze castings and sturdy high quality brass parts.
