A vivid matching pair of lidded ginger jars with sunny yellow grounds and richly colored birds, flowering branches, and blossoms. The scenes wrap around each jar, while matching domed lids finish in pointed finials with gold-tone tips. Can be displayed together on a mantel, console, or bookcase, they bring color and symmetry to a room.
Both undersides carry red “Nippon” lettering, a matching red seal-style mark, and aged paper labels. The specific maker has not been verified. Their decoration and construction suggest a 20th-century date, tentatively mid to late century. The pair suits Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, grandmillennial, and collected traditional interiors.

The unglazed foot rims are darkened and worn, and the interiors show substantial brown staining or residue, especially around the openings. The yellow exteriors have scattered marks, discoloration, and areas of surface wear, including a noticeable brown spot on one jar. The lid edges and gold-tone finial tips also show wear. Please examine the close-up photographs. Would benefit from a cleaning. *Please note that this is a vintage, pre-owned item and is not brand new. Vintage pieces have been previously used and may show age-appropriate wear, including scratches, scuffs, small chips, discoloration, finish variations, fading, patina, repairs, or other imperfections. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered an important part of the description.
