The desk features a balanced symmetrical composition with two drawer pedestals, elegantly rounded drawer fronts and original chrome-plated details.

the desk is veneered in highly decorative madrona burl, whose rich and distinctive grain is beautifully displayed across the large writing surface and curved drawer fronts. The combination of richly figured wood, dark contrasting details and chrome-plated handles emphasizes the characteristic art deco appearance of the piece.

the desk has been professionally restored and finished to a high gloss, enhancing the depth and natural figuring of the madrona burl veneer. The original chrome-plated handles have been preserved.

a particularly attractive original detail is the set of functional keys marked “up”, further highlighting the authenticity and collectible character of this exceptional example of czechoslovak furniture design.
