A classic stoneware bowl by renowned Danish ceramicist Arne Bang, model 189, showcasing his signature combination of sculptural form and subtly expressive glazing. This large bowl features a beautifully ribbed exterior, its vertical fluting creating a strong architectural rhythm that contrasts with the smooth, rounded interior. Made in his own studio in the 1930s. Signed "ab" underneath. Rendered in Bang’s characteristic muted palette, the expressive running glaze presents soft blue and green earthy tones with organically mottled variations, emphasizing the handcrafted nature of the piece. The bowl’s weight, balance, and tactile surface exemplify the refined artisanal quality that has made Bang’s early stoneware highly sought after by collectors. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
