A good sized pair of American Brass Andirons consisting of turned elements terminating in substantial finials with an octagonal section between further round turnings. The andirons rest on outwardly scrolled and spurred legs with ball feet. There is a curved element with ornamental log stops before the cast iron billet bars begin. Good antique condition, nicely polished with slight patina in the turnings, artisanal irregularities to the brass as made. The billets and log stops with heavy patina from use. Ca. late 19th century.
