Elevate your curatorial collection with this exceptional 19th-century Victorian miniature "shiny" Burmese art glass rose bowl. Dating to circa 1885–1889, this rare heirloom has been meticulously preserved within a single-family collection for well over a century.
A masterpiece of Victorian heat-reactive glass artistry, it transitions seamlessly from a soft, sunny yellow body into a delicate rose-pink gradient at the crimped, pinched rim. While most Burmese glass from this era was acid-etched to achieve a matte finish, this miniature example features its highly coveted, original "natural" glossy finish, making it a rare find for discerning connoisseurs.
True to its historic formula, the glass is infused with uranium oxide, yielding a breathtaking, bright neon-green fluorescence under UV blacklight. The base exhibits a beautifully hand-ground and completely smooth pontil scar, testifying to the masterful hand-blown craftsmanship of either the Mt. Washington Glass Company or Thomas Webb & Sons.
