They are finished with William Morris's Compton pattern, a botanical design of flowers and foliage from Morris & Co. in the late Victorian period. William Morris (1834 to 1896) was an English textile and wallpaper designer and the founder of Morris & Co. Each container has a hammered gold leaf rim and a gilded interior with a raised poppy medallion at the base. The style is Art Nouveau and Victorian, and this pair of statement pieces suits English traditional and traditional interiors. The listing includes two containers, and each measures 3.5 inches by 4 inches. Use them as cachepots for small plants in nursery pots, as desk or vanity organizers for brushes and pens, as candleholders, or as a pair on a mantel, bookshelf, or console. See less
