A beautiful 19th century decorative box featuring richly figured natural malachite with striking variations of deep and vibrant green. The substantial rectangular form is finely trimmed in brass and raised on elegant brass feet.
The interior is lined in blue velvet, providing a handsome contrast to the malachite exterior. The box has been professionally refurbished, including restoration to the lacquered finish and brass. The interior fabric appears to have some age and may predate the restoration.
A particularly attractive example with beautifully patterned stone, generous proportions and a classic combination of malachite and brass.
