A beautifully detailed handcrafted bone-inlay dressing table and matching round mirror by Aditya Handicrafts of India, dated 2021.
The two-drawer table is completely ornamented with hand-cut bone inlay set into a dramatic black ground. Its top features an exceptionally dense arrangement of scrolling vines, leaves and stylized flowers framed by multiple geometric and foliate borders. The decoration continues across the drawer fronts, apron, legs and lower stretcher.
Two drawers are fitted with particularly charming carved dimensional flower-form bone pulls, providing an unusual sculptural detail. The table stands on four legs fitted with casters.
The matching 32.75-inch round mirror is equally elaborate, with concentric bands of floral, leaf and geometric bone inlay surrounding the large central mirror plate.
Made in India and retaining the Aditya Handicrafts manufacturer’s label dated January 2021. A highly decorative contemporary interpretation of the traditional bone-inlay furniture associated with Rajasthan, India.
The ensemble would make a striking dressing table or vanity in a bedroom, dressing room, bathroom or sophisticated entry.
