A handsome vintage American pedestal table by Haasbrock-Sonderguard of Los Angeles, featuring a substantial round white Carrara marble top set upon the maker’s decorative cast-iron pedestal base.
The sculptural black cast-iron base has a turned central column rising from an architectural four-footed base with gracefully curved supports. The underside bears the raised “HAASBROCK SONDERGUARD” maker’s mark.
Haasbrock-Sonderguard specialized in decorative cast-iron table bases for residential and commercial interiors; period Interiors advertisements document the company producing these bases during the 1960s.
The 36.75-inch-diameter Carrara marble top is particularly attractive, with a creamy white ground and natural gray veining. At 30 inches high, the table is standard dining height and would work beautifully as an intimate dining or breakfast table, center table, library table, or dramatic entry table.
