It is woven in a heavyweight wool using mainly nature-inspired shades of sky blue, yellow and ecru highlighting the flowers and birds. It has the designer's initials NE in the lower right corner. c1970s Éva Németh (1930-2019) was an Hungarian textile designer best known for rugs and tapestries. She was educated at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design 1955-60. During the 1970s and 80s she won textile design prizes and featured in many solo exhibitions and group shows in Budapest and other European cities. Many of her pieces use animal motifs such as horses and birds. Her designs were produced by the Ziola company in Hungary and were primarily sold in Scandinavia, notably in the up-market department store Illums Bolighus in Copenhagen. See less
