Since virtually all kimonos are identical in fabric dimensions, they become canvases for art to be worn following certain strictures regarding color and design placement. These pieces take artistic liberties with those norms to capture the simplicity of the kimono form -including the Obi- while using color and design at home in today's residential and business environments.

The sculpture represents the front and the back of a kimono, floated on a custom rugged steel pedestal, 12¼”x 12¼” nominal size. The final firing purposely leaves the surface matte to be more true to a fabric for your perfect presentation.

Each piece is titled, signed, and dated on the back. See less
