A Qashqai camel trapping is a traditional, handwoven or embroidered textile used to decorate ceremonial and bridal camels during weddings and festive processions.
Families made these vibrant textiles (also known as asmalyk or wedding trappings) to adorn the flanks of camels that carried brides to their new homes.
The Qashqai people are a confederation of semi-nomadic tribes living primarily in the Fars Province of Iran, centered around the Zagros Mountains and the city of Shiraz.
